I know I'm late on this editorial, but I stumbled over it again the other day when I was having a pin-a-thon, and I fell in love with it all over again. The styling, the models, the lighting is just so perfect. Daria Strokous and Jourdan Dunn by Josh Olins for Vogue Japan April 2012. Photos from FGR.

Just Cavalli Cruise 2013

Cavalli1 Cavalli2 Cruise3 Feast your eyes on these shots from Just Cavalli's Cruise presentation. One tick for prints, one for baseball caps and one for the shoes. Top marks for JC.

The weather these past few days has been pretty amazing; I, as a member of the almost-albino race have burnt to a crisp. I was thinking yesterday about how I don't have any summer appropriate perfume, my ones are a little heavy for the sunshine. And so cue my list of the best summer perfumes:

CK One Summer, Dolce & Gabbana Light Blue, Untitled by Maison Martin Margiela, Marc Jacobs Cranberry Splash, DKNY Fresh Blossom, Flora by Gucci.

Chanel Cruise 2013

We can always rely on the Kaiser to give us a spectacle when fashion show time comes around; remember when there was a giant gold lion in the Grand Palais? Or the car-sized seashells? Or the volcano? Yeah, exactly. So enter Exhibit A; the Cruise 2013 show, set against the backdrop of what else but the Palace of Versailles. Obviously.

The models (with their Sam McKnight-crafted renaissance hair, and Peter Philips make up) weaved their way down the stone steps and around the trio of fountains in the ugliest flatforms and prettiest dresses Chanel can produce. The flatforms were so ugly that I have declined to post any outfits including them; it's just not right, right? But ignoring these (which we should) there were some beautiful dresses in Chanel's perfected mint/lilac/lemon/sky blue palette, and adorned with crystals and oversized jewellery. The outerwear was tailored and belted, and there were lashings of tweed (note Lindsey and Amyline's outfits) with embellished collars and floor length a-line skirts.
Other highlights included my favourite tacky accessory of the moment, the perpex bag, and the unbeatable floppy summer hat. Possibly the most eye-catching piece of swimwear we'll see this Cruise - a sheer stomached bodysuit in duck egg blue worn by Karmen Pedaru. And my personal highlight of the show, Jon Kortajarena, sporting a sleeveless tux jacket with shorts, acessorised with a black watering can. Let's just say, I'm on edge to see the men in London walking around with watering can in hand.

My personal favourites I hear you cry?
1. The box pleated embellished white dress
2. The lilac print dress with the sheer neckline
3. The quad of contrast baroque dresses that culminated the show (Stella McCartney anyone?).

Also, when the flatforms disappeared, the shoes were pretty as punch. Karl Lagerfeld's royal fountain punch that is; anyone else up for a watering can full of that?

In Between Days

So today is one of those days that I really don't like; we want it to be Summer but the weather's not quite playing ball yet, so you have to carry on dressing like it's still February. For the first time in about a week I'm actually out of the library (all my work is now done, big yay for me)and I finally can blog like a real person again. So here's what I want to be wearing for today, an in between day.

Furry White Gilet by Topshop,  Shirt by J.Crew, Vest from T by Alexander Wang, Necklace by Irit Design,Jeans by Paige Premium Denim, Watch from Marc by Marc Jacobs, Shoes from Nicholas Kirkwood and Satchel by Victoria Beckham.

Things For May

Hello lovelies! Sorry for being a bit of a lazy bean on the blogging front this past week. I've had a few uni deadlines and on top of that I have half killed my elbow by drunkenly falling over on it. Making me think more than ever that I could do with a helper.

Anyway I thought I would update you on my recent purchases/presents. My trip to NY drained me of funds but I got a beautiful khaki jacket with leather sleeves and a printed H&M dress. When I got back it became apparent that the money bug has hit me, and I just keep buying stuff.

Topshop Dress with a dipped hem that I bought with the intention of wearing to my Summer Ball, but will probably mix and match during the day. Topshop Cardigan purely because I needed a new one, and this was pretty cosy. Asos Zip Bracelet; it's a zip and I need to acessorise more. Topshop Printed Trousers which are fulfilling my daytime pyjama need. Topshop Knitted Tee which is perfect for slouching; I promise that's the last of Topshop. Michael Kors Silver Chronograph which I have wanted  forever. Zara City Bag which is the right size and colour to put all my stuff in, and is good for evenings out. Zara Sandals, to go with the dress naturally. Michael Kors Rose Gold Chronograph because one is never enough.

Met x Prada

Met1 Me2

I would've made a long post about the Met Gala (Diane Kruger, Solange etc had beaut dresses) but then Kate Bosworth in Prada happened, and I don't care about anything apart from this dress.

Bank Account Assault Day

Today was student loan day, or as I like to call it, bank account assault day. This is the day where you're supposed to save and budget so you don't have to eat only pasta or have cold water for the rest of the term, but instead you just buy whatever the hell you want. I also got paid from work today, making this double bank account assault day.

So the first thing I did? Made a wish list of course, of all the pretty things I would like to buy. I'm on a low after returning from New York, so some retail therapy will boost me up again, right? Also I figured that all this together still comes to less than the Alexander Wang shoes I was a crazy inch from buying.

Topshop Gilet (which has already sold out after two days, bleugh), Topshop Jeans, Asos Brogues, Topshop Shell Top, Zara Messenger Bag, Asos Sandals, Stella & Dot. Bracelets, Etsy Shorts, Asos Milan Shoes.

My six days in New York were beyond amazing. I've always been in love with London and so I was excited at the prospect of another great city and NYC did not disappoint. Everything from the people to the food to the shopping to the views to the buildings to the smells and more was more than what I expected. I was so overwhelmed by the sheer size of the buildings that I was intially in awe, but after a few days I had a real sense of belonging. I just want to go back now and wander around and take photographs forever.
