Richard Nicoll is rather a realistic man. Hence why he opted for a presentation; less stressful for a designer who was at breaking point. The clothes themselves, were also in a practical vein, matching Nicoll’s aesthetic perfectly; he declared it his ‘favourite collection ever’.
The clothes had the cleanest cuts and straightest lines possible; and the palette was kept to a mix of grey, white, blue, yellow and orange (although the latter three made you stop and look). There was a ladylike vibe to his box-pleated skirts, sweaters and shift dresses.
One of the most impressive parts of the collection; a bag that can charge your mobile, developed alongside sponsor Vodafone. What a brilliantly simple idea.
