One thing a fashion editor would never shy away from is a tour-de-force outing of power dressing; fashion magazines all over the world are targeted at dressing to make an impression and an to create a reaction. And this morning at the University of London’s Senate House, Antonio Berardi gave us a masterclass in powerful fashion.
There was a mixture of minimalism and sharp tailoring, with architectural cuts, layered skirts and peplums. Berardi exhibited a street style favourite (layering) to perfection – a coat in pale grey over a blazer of baby pink was a perfect illustration. There were a series of embellished dresses which had my eye, especially a floor length Givenchy-esque piece with sheer sleeves and a collar. Also of note was the footwear, feathered sandals in black and teal.
Overall here, the collection was as sharp as the hair.
